RCD Series MPF (MELF Power Film) resistors are available in five package sizes, and wattage ratings including a 1-watt, 2-watt (standard and miniature version), and a 3-watt (standard and miniature version). RCD’s MPF Series was developed as an economical option for medium power surface mount applications. The construction features a resistance film deposited onto a high thermal conductivity alumina core. Metal end caps act as heat sinks drawing heat away from the resistive film, and provides excellent solderability to the PCB. Inherent non-inductive performance and fully insulated resistive film provide excellent environmental performance as well as high dielectric strength.

RCD’s type ‘MPF’ offers high quality film performance at economical-grade pricing. Available in a wide resistance range from 0.1W to 10MegW (extended value ranges available upon request), and tolerances from 0.5% to 10%. Custom options including pulse withstanding design, flameproof coating, Group A screening per MIL-R-39008, and numerous design modifications are available including special marking, tightened TC, increased voltage, etc.

Combining RCD’s expertise in the field of precision resistors, with the latest in automated resistor production, enables their pricing to be comparable with conventional precision leaded resistors. Typical pricing is less than $.10 each in production volumes.
